In a blog post yesterday, Ed Wilson (the Microsoft Scripting Guy) announced that the PowerShell Scripting Games will again be running in 2012. Again, there will be both beginner and advanced categories to cater to all scripters (even if you’ve never touched PowerShell before!).
If you attended any of our PowerShell sessions in November (or if you didn’t, but wanted to), we’d really encourage you to take part in The Games. It’s a fantastic opportunity to write scripts towards a common goal within a particular scope. There’s also the opportunity to have your scripts critiqued by the legends of PowerShell. Past judges include Sean Kearney, Jeffrey Hicks, Richard Siddaway, Shay Levy, Aleksandar Nikolic and of course Ed Wilson.
The Scripting Games launch on Monday April 2, so expect to see a lot of buzz around the place before then! We plan to run some short training sessions via both pre-recorded video and live meetings once Ed publishes the training guide in the coming weeks. Keep an eye on this blog and add it to your RSS aggregator so you will find out when announce session times.
Until then, jump on the 2011 Scripting Games Study Guide and the 2011 Scripting Games: All Links on One Page to get a head start on the Scripting Games for 2012.
Again, thanks to www.bobsseo.com for their continuing support and remember to visit the forums if you have any questions about the site, the user groups, PowerShell or just want to say hi!
